APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS AND GENERAL INFORMATION
• Candidates who will apply to postgraduate programs must have a bachelor's degree, candidates who will apply to doctoral programs must have a master's degree or be a student in the last semester of their postgraduate studies for conditional pre-admission.
• Graduates of non-thesis master's programs cannot apply to doctoral programs, but those who registered for non-thesis master's programs before 06/02/2013 can apply.
• Applicants who are eligible to graduate must present their graduation documents obtained from their universities or from e-Government on the final registration dates.
• Candidates' University and GANO information will be obtained from YÖKSİS (Higher Education Council Information System). Those who are not registered with YÖKSİS, graduates or candidates who are in the process of graduating must have their information updated by their universities. Candidates whose information cannot be obtained from YÖKSİS cannot complete their applications. -Candidates who have graduated/will graduate from a university abroad will enter their information through the system themselves. https://www.turkiye.gov.tr/yuksekogretimkurulu-baskanligi
• Candidates who have graduated/will graduate from a university abroad must have a grade point average calculated in the 4 or 100 system in their transcripts. This calculation is not made by our Institute.
• Candidates can only apply to one graduate program.
• Candidates must attend all exams announced for the programs they have applied to. Otherwise, they will not be taken into account in the success evaluation.
• Those who are registered in a Thesis Master's or Doctorate Program at another Higher Education Institution must have their current registrations deleted before final registration to our Institute.
• TRNC nationals will be evaluated as Turkish citizens and ALES score is required.
• Blue Card holders can only apply from one nationality.
• Candidates on the reserve list; The main and reserve lists are determined after the evaluations of ALES, graduation grade, professional knowledge and interview from the candidates who apply to our University's graduate programs. Vacant quotas are announced for registration instead of the main candidates who do not register on the final registration dates. Pre-registration is made by receiving a petition from the reserves on the list on the relevant date/dates. This petition is for determining the candidates who have earned the right to final registration. Reserve candidates who have not submitted a petition cannot gain the right to register even if their score is high. The reserve list, as much as the vacant quota according to the success ranking, is announced for final registration. Reserves who have earned the right to final registration apply to the Institute on the relevant date/dates to complete the registration process. • Excuses of those who do not take the exams on the announced dates, who do not pre-register and do not finalize their registrations will not be accepted.
• Documents uploaded to the system must be approved and fully readable, otherwise they will be considered invalid.
• Programs that have fewer students than the announced quota may not be opened. The number of students required to provide education in the program is determined by the decision of the Institute's Board of Directors.
• Postgraduate procedures will be implemented within the scope of the Marmara University Postgraduate Education and Training Regulation.
• The Institute of European Studies reserves the right to make changes regarding entrance exams. The candidate is responsible for following the announcements and changes to these announcements. Please follow the institute's web page.
• You can make your questions and requests from the "Support" application located at http://basvuru.marmara.edu.tr, where you made your application procedures.
• Mobile phones will not be allowed in the Examination Halls. Candidates are kindly requested to show the necessary sensitivity in this regard.
• Candidates must have their EXAM ENTRY DOCUMENTS with them when entering the Professional Knowledge Assessment exams. Since there may be changes in the exam halls, the Entry Documents must be received from the application system 1 (one) day before the exam.
APPLICATION:
• Pre-registration applications (https:basvuru.marmara.edu.tr) will be made only through the system (online) between 10 - 26 June 2024. No documents will be delivered to the Institute in person during pre-registration. Candidates who have earned the right to final registration according to the results announced at the end of all evaluations will complete the registration process by personally delivering the originals of the documents they have uploaded to the system to our Institute or through their relatives who have given them a notary power of attorney on the final registration dates. Registration is not made by mail.
• Candidates who want to apply to our Institute's postgraduate programs can create a "new account" through the application system announced on our Institute's website for pre-registration, enter the required information from the relevant tabs, and upload the documents requested to be uploaded on the application screen to the system. Candidates are required to enter their current e-mail addresses during the application process.
• Information and documents uploaded by candidates will be checked and approved by our institute's student affairs. In case of any deficiencies or errors in the uploaded information and documents, information will be sent to your current e-mail address (invalid application, unapproved document, missing documents, etc.) that you provided during the application. Approved preferences cannot be changed or deleted. Candidates can update information and documents by logging into the system with the user information created during the pre-registration period.
• If the information and documents declared during the pre-registration do not match the information and documents submitted during the final registration, the responsibility belongs to the candidate. Even if the final registration right is gained, it will be considered invalid.

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR APPLICATION IN THE 2024-25 ACADEMIC YEAR
• The following documents will be uploaded to the system (online) during the application. The documents must be approved and signed.
• Graduation Certificate (to be uploaded to the system in pdf or jpeg format) (Mandatory); Candidates applying to Master's Programs must have a Bachelor's degree or be a student in the last semester of their undergraduate education for conditional pre-admission. Candidates applying to the Doctorate program must have graduated from Master's programs or be a student in the last semester of their Master's education.
• Candidates who are eligible to graduate must submit their graduation certificates or a document showing the graduation date on the final registration dates. Otherwise, they will lose the right to final registration.
• Transcript (Approved, to be uploaded to the system in pdf or jpeg format) (Mandatory);
For applications to Master's Programs, an approved Undergraduate Transcript must be uploaded, and for applications to Doctorate Programs, an approved Undergraduate and Master's Transcript must be uploaded. Undergraduate students who have not graduated must have a General Weighted Grade Point Average (GANO) calculated by the University they graduated from and/or will graduate from for seven (7) semesters. In case of a grade change, an update cannot be requested.
• ALES Result Document - (Mandatory); Valid for five (5) years from the date the exam results are announced. The most recent results with a control code will be uploaded to the system. If no validity period is specified for exams equivalent to ALES, it is as long as the validity period of the ALES exam. Candidates who will apply to the Thesis Master's and Doctorate Programs must meet the score requirements specified below. Foreign candidates are not required to have received a certain score from ALES or an equivalent exam. ALES (EA) GRE GMAT

• Foreign Language Certificate (YÖKDİL, e-YDS, YDS or equivalent, in pdf or jpeg format
to be uploaded to the system) (Mandatory); Candidates who will apply to Master's and Doctoral Programs must obtain the required score from the specified exams or an equivalent from an international foreign language exam accepted as equivalent by YÖK/ÖSYM.
Candidates who take the exams conducted by ÖSYM will enter the exam name and term information. Scores will be withdrawn from ÖSYM by the system. The validity period of exams such as YÖKDİL, YDS, e-YDS is five (5) years from the date they are taken.
• Photograph (Mandatory); 4.5X6 cm passport photo taken in the last six months. The uploaded photo will be used in all your official procedures. The candidate's pre-registration application will be canceled due to photos uploaded other than the passport photo.
• Equivalence Certificate (For Turkish Citizens); Turkish citizen candidates who have completed their undergraduate and graduate education abroad; must obtain a diploma equivalence certificate from the Council of Higher Education. The pre-registration of the candidate who applies for the Diploma Equivalence Certificate is accepted, but the document must be presented during final registration.
• TÖMER Certificate (For foreign candidates) (Mandatory); Mandatory for Turkish programs at least at B2 Level. Must have graduated from an undergraduate or graduate program in Turkish in any higher education institution in Turkey or abroad or must have an official document showing that the candidate has received at least B2 (TÖMER) or an equivalent score from the Turkish exam conducted by TÖMER, Marmara – TÖMER, Yunus Emre Institute or one of the Turkish language teaching centers of other universities in Turkey.
• School Recognition Certificate (Mandatory); The school recognition certificate will be submitted to our institute by the candidate during the final registration for the graduate programs.
• Turkish citizens and foreign candidates who have studied abroad; Turkish citizens and foreign candidates who have graduated abroad must apply with the documents they uploaded to the system during pre-registration (graduation, transcript and other documents) in the language of the program they applied for or with a Turkish translation. It will be uploaded to the system in pdf or jpeg format, approved and signed by a sworn translator.
DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR FINAL REGISTRATION TO GRADUATE PROGRAMS FOR THE 2024-2025 ACADEMIC YEAR
• Graduation certificate (Mandatory) (Original and one photocopy): Candidates who will register for Master's programs must have a bachelor's degree. Candidates who will register for Doctoral Programs must have a Thesis Master's degree.
Candidates who cannot present their graduation certificates will not be able to register even if they win.
• Transcript (Mandatory - Average must be calculated out of 4 or 100.)
Military Service Status Certificate (Mandatory - can be obtained from the military branch or e-government.)
• Foreign Language Certificate (Mandatory - Valid for 5 years from the date of the exams.)
• ALES Certificate or equivalent document (Mandatory - Valid for 5 years from the date of announcement.)
• Equivalence Certificate (Mandatory - For Turkish citizens who have completed their education abroad)
• 2 photographs (Mandatory - Must be 4.5 X 6 cm in size, taken within the last six months.)
• Copy of Turkish ID Card (Mandatory - One photocopy of the back and front)
• Copy of Passport (Mandatory - For foreign candidates. The original passport must be shown and a photocopy must be made in the program language or a translation into Turkish (Required.)
• TÖMER document (Compulsory - For foreign candidates. Except for candidates who completed their education in Turkey)
• School Recognition Certificate (Compulsory - For foreign candidates - School recognition certificate will be submitted to our institute by the candidate during the "Final Registration for Postgraduate Programs".
• Contribution Fee Receipt (Candidates who will register pay a contribution fee if they have registrations in open education etc. programs.)
• Contribution fee fees for foreign nationals: They pay an annual contribution fee of 8,500 TL for master's programs and 10,000 TL for doctoral programs.
• Turkish citizens and foreign candidates who have studied abroad:
• They will submit copies of the above documents approved by a sworn translator to the institute.
• They will submit the Foreign Higher Education Diploma Recognition Certificate or Equivalence Certificate to the Institute during final registration.
