The second of the seminar series which is titled “The Importance of Political Participation for Democracy: Democratic Participation of Youth” in the scope of “Women and Youth Rights in the European Union” project was hosted by our institute on 28 November 2019.

Müjgân Suver who is the Head of the EU and Human Rights Platform gave a brief information about the Project at the beginning of the seminar. Mete Çubukçu who is the journalist-writer gave a speech about the importance of democratic participation in Tukey and the other countries in the light of his professional experiences. In his speech, Mete Çubukçu drew the attention to the elections for democracy but at the same time he also emphasized the importance of NGO’s and its relations with the participation. After Mete Çubukçu's speech, the seminar continued interactively with the questions of the attendants. In this section, especially the relationship between technology and media and its social effects are emphasized.
